Building on the 2nd September 2021 session which focused on the latest evidence and guidance, this second webinar will dive deeper into specific country experiences and examples of promising practices around safe school reopening and resuming/expanding non-educational services delivered in schools. Select countries in the region will share their knowledge and experience on critical issues including: health protocols, mental health and psychosocial support, communication with parents, teachers and students, gathering real-time data, WASH in schools, nutrition and school feeding, and contingency planning and resilience building, among others.

This knowledge exchange will engage high-level education and health actors in the region around key thematic areas and identify common challenges as well as key actions for preparedness and safe school reopening or sustaining safe operations, which can be implemented in the next 6-12 months.

  • Programme Managers (Policy and Technical) from Ministries of Health and Education in member countries
  • UN staff in health and education, as well as experts in child protection, WASH, nutrition and school feeding, and gender at regional and country levels
  • Representatives from relevant partners agencies working in health and education and allied areas.
