Comprehensive Sexuality Education to Learners with Disabilities

Comprehensive Sexuality Education to Learners with Disabilities

You are invited to participate in a short survey conducted by Leonard Cheshire in collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok. Before you decide to take part, it is important for you to understand why the research is being conducted and what it will involve. Our research is focused on the Asia-Pacific region and looking at the delivery of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to learners with disabilities.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is a curriculum-based process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality. It aims to equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to: realize their health, well-being and dignity; develop respectful social and sexual relationships; consider how their choices affect their own well-being and that of others; and understand and ensure the protection of their rights throughout their lives. We’re particularly trying to understand how teachers can be best supported to deliver CSE to learners with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. Our survey is available in English, Filipino, Mongolian, Nepali, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai. If your preferred language doesn't appear automatically, just click the button on the top right of the page to change the language.

You can access the survey by clicking https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6662271/Comprehensive-Sexuality-Education-to-learners-with-disabilities

You are being contacted to participate in this study because you are working as a teacher within a country in the Asia-Pacific region and already deliver CSE, already deliver CSE to learners with disabilities or may need to in the future. If you decide to participate, you will be asked questions about your experience and background, as well as your thoughts, attitudes and perceptions about disability and CSE provision.

The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. All information collected in this survey will be treated with strict confidentiality. Participation in this survey is voluntary and any individual may withdraw from participation at any time. Note that questions are optional and you do not have to answer any question you do not wish.

If you have any questions about the study, you can email the study team at mark.carew@leonardcheshire.org
