Objective
To prepare a technical background paper and policy brief in English that describe and critically examine education sector efforts in creating safe, gender-equitable and effective learning environments, supported by intersectoral actions that promote learner and teacher health, wellbeing and resilience, particularly in the context of COVID-19-related safe school operations and education system recovery. The paper is intended to guide the thematic panel discussion at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Regional Education Ministerial Conference (APREMC-ll) in 2022 and provide Ministers with the relevant information and recommendations for their consideration towards enhancing quality, inclusive education in response to COVID-19 and beyond.
