Call for Applications: ESD Okayama Award 2020

Application Submission Deadline: 31 July 2020 ( Friday), 17:00 (Japan Standard)

 

Okayama City and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award Steering Committee, are pleased to announce that the ‘ESD Okayama Award 2020’ is open for entry.

 

The award aims to showcase outstanding ESD practices in local communities around the world and as well as to support organizations carrying out programmes related to ESD. 

 

ESD is a key enabler to achieving all targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); therefore, it also expected to advance now more than ever.

 

The ESD Okayama Award 2020 is being organized by United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), UNESCO Bangkok, Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU), Japan Council on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD-J), The Goi Peace Foundation and Okayama ESD Promotion Commission.

 

Eligibility: Organizations based in any country, including Japan implementing ESD activities in local communities, are eligible to apply for the Global Prize.

 

Prize: 3,000 USD

 

Number of Award Winning Projects:  Up to two projects

 

Award Ceremony: Award winners will be invited in Okayama, Japan, and will be requested to give a presentation on the project.

 

Deadline of the application: 31 July 2020, 17:00 (Japanese Standard Time)
